Complex Security Officer

This role contributes to maintaining peace and security within a correctional facility. You will work alternately in the central control room and provide physical supervision of detainees and visitors, making the position dynamic and unique.

What you will do.

• Maintain order, peace, and security within the institution.
• Check visitors and staff upon entry.
• Accompany detainees to appointments or activities.
• Be involved in cell inspections.
• Monitor security in visitor rooms, common areas, and sections via cameras.
• Intervene as necessary in security incidents.
• Be part of the emergency response organization (BHV) and potentially an internal assistance team.
• Admit and register staff and visitors, overseeing security measures.
• Monitor isolation cells via cameras for quick intervention in emergencies.
• Supervise conjugal visits and conduct body searches afterwards.
• Provide support during calamities, such as conflicts between detainees.
• Ensure security around the building.

• Demonstrable MBO 2 working and thinking level (assessed with an aptitude test).
• Interest in security and a focus on everyone feeling safe.
• Remain calm during tensions and act clearly and respectfully.
• Good physical and mental condition.
• Some technical knowledge of security systems and cameras, or the willingness to learn this.
• Good communication skills in Dutch.
• Willingness to work irregular shifts (day, evening, or night shifts).
• Stress-resistant, decisive, and strong in communication.
• Ability to adapt communication with detainees to the situation.
