This assignment involves the temporary fulfillment of the Intranet Editor-in-Chief role within a government organization. The Editor-in-Chief provides strategic direction across the organization regarding the coherence, quality, topicality, risks, and continuous development of the intranet. The role is directive and sets frameworks. The goal is an intranet that remains coherent, qualitative, topical, and accessible across the organization.
What you do
- Establish, update, and monitor editorial guidelines, formats, and quality standards
- Set up a working method to structurally monitor organizational coherence, priorities, topicality
- Assess the intranet for quality, digital accessibility
- Develop and offer knowledge transfer, coaching, and guidance aimed at strengthening the expertise of the editorial network
- Initiate improvements in the intranet structure and content strategy
- Identify organizational needs and translate them into intranet solutions
- Advise on impactful, sensitive, or organization-wide communication issues related to the intranet
- Act as a substantive expert and advisor for issues concerning intranet governance, content quality, and organization-wide communication

Collaboration and positioning.
- The contractor works independently with the Media Team and relevant stakeholders within the organization
- Provides expertise in intranet governance, content strategy, and editorial quality
- Intensive collaboration with final editors, the editorial network in organizational units, information owners, and involved management and development partners
- Monitors organization-wide coherence, without taking over the content responsibility of information owners

What they ask
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 6 years in a senior editorial, editor-in-chief, and/or strategic content role
- Demonstrable work experience with organization-wide editorial direction, including establishing and monitoring guidelines, formats, and/or quality standards
- Demonstrable work experience with intranet or a comparable digital employee platform within an organization with multiple organizational units and various stakeholders
Preferences.
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level in communication, journalism, media
- Demonstrable work experience with guiding, coaching, or managing editors, correspondents, or content creators
- Demonstrable work experience as Editor-in-Chief or in a comparable strategic leadership role for intranet and/or a digital employee platform within a complex organization
- Demonstrable work experience with developing and implementing an editorial model, content governance, and/or organization-wide editorial working method
- Demonstrable work experience with quality assurance for understandable language, digital accessibility, findability, and/or topicality
