Spatial Initiatives Coordinator

You will manage existing processes and the orderly handling of customer inquiries. You ensure that spatial initiatives are assessed integrally and that permit procedures run smoothly. This is a temporary fulfillment for a permanent vacancy, an embedded function with continuous core tasks.

What you will do.

  • Coordinate the implementation and further development of processes, instruments, and working methods within the field.
  • Provide substantive guidance to a team of approximately 12 employees and stimulate collaboration, development, and results-oriented work.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of spatial initiatives, environmental consultations, and permit applications.
  • Advise the board, management, initiators, and colleagues on permit procedures, spatial initiatives, and developments within the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet).
  • Translate organizational ambitions into concrete improvement actions, working agreements, and multi-year program goals.
  • Identify opportunities and bottlenecks in processes and legislation, and provide appropriate improvement proposals in collaboration with the Spatial Development coordinator.
  • Maintain active contacts with internal and external stakeholders and strengthen cooperation within the region.

What they ask

  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience with the substantive management of employees in the field of spatial processes within a public institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience with the substantive guidance and assessment of spatial initiatives within a public institution, including preliminary requests, spatial procedures, and/or initiatives under the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet).
  • Agreement with the stated secondment conditions.

Preferences.

  • Demonstrably completed urban planning or comparable education at a minimum HBO bachelor level.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience with assessing and guiding applications for environmental permits.
  • Demonstrable work experience with conducting and guiding environmental consultations, with examples mentioned in work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience with the substantive guidance and assessment of spatial initiatives within a public institution, including preliminary requests, spatial procedures, and/or initiatives under the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet).
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience in the past 6 years within a public organization in the spatial domain.
