Legal officer objection and appeal SD
Due to sick leave replacement, temporary additional legal capacity is needed within a Law and Livelihood Security team of a government organization. The deployment is intended to ensure the continuity of legal activities in the field of objection and appeal within the social domain during this absence. The initial deployment is planned for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension.
What you will do.
- Handle objection and (higher) appeal letters and preliminary injunctions in the context of the Participation Act, Wmo, Youth Act, the Decree on Assistance to the Self-Employed, and temporary regulations.
- Represent the executive board in proceedings before the court and the Central Appeals Tribunal (CRvB).
- Participate in regular work meetings.
- Report to the client or a supervisor.
- Work in a team, coordinating with the supervisor and colleagues.
What they ask
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years as a legal officer for objection and appeal within the social domain at a government organization.
- Agreement with the stated secondment conditions.

- Demonstrable work experience as a legal officer for objection and appeal under the Participation Act at a government organization.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years where the candidate was responsible for handling objection, appeal, and/or higher appeal letters within the social domain.
- Demonstrable work experience with objection, and appeal based on the Wmo and/or Youth Act.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with Suite within a municipal organization.
- Demonstrable work experience representing an executive board before the court and/or CRvB.
- Completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
Profile
- Current and thorough knowledge of the General Administrative Law Act (Awb), Social Support Act (Wmo), Youth Act, and the Participation Act, including relevant current developments.
- Able to quickly grasp complex legal issues and files, distinguish main from secondary issues, and arrive at a legally well-founded judgment.
- Works result-oriented, monitors the progress of files, and handles matters within the applicable deadlines.
- Works accurately and structured, pays attention to legal and procedural requirements, and carefully weighs relevant facts, circumstances, and interests.
- Can clearly and convincingly substantiate legal positions and explain them orally, including in discussions and when representing the executive board during proceedings before the court and the Central Appeals Tribunal.
- Excellent Dutch writing skills and able to draft clear, legally correct, and well-motivated documents, including objection decisions and procedural documents.
