An international production group, active in the development and production of electronics and cabling for various sectors, is looking for reinforcement. The organization has production sites in Europe, North America, and Asia. Data plays an increasingly crucial role. The existing data platform runs on Azure, and the next step is the construction of a new data environment on Microsoft Fabric. You will have the unique opportunity to build a Microsoft Fabric environment from scratch and lead the migration.
Once the data foundation is established, the focus will shift towards AI use cases, where you will contribute to thinking about the possibilities and preparing the platform.
What you do
- You combine managing an existing platform with a greenfield challenge.
- You manage the current Azure platform together with a fellow Data Engineer.
- You build and optimize pipelines in Azure Data Factory.
- You write SQL and work on data models.
- You contribute to the semantic layer behind Power BI.
- Your focus is on the backend; visualizations are handled by other colleagues.
- You lead the migration to Microsoft Fabric, make technical choices, and determine the architecture of the future data platform.
- You work in a small team and have direct contact with the business.
- You are given the space to address improvements and take responsibility for your choices.
What they ask
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or the willingness to quickly delve into it.
- Experience with data modeling.
- Knowledge of the Power BI backend and basic knowledge of DAX.
- Experience with Python; PySpark is a plus.
- Good communication skills with the business.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
