Work Supervisor Addiction Care and Psychiatry

At a care organization, you provide guidance to people with a vulnerable background, helping them work step-by-step towards a more stable life.

As a Work Supervisor, you ensure that daily care on the work floor runs smoothly and that the team improves a little every day.
A department offers residential guidance to 47 people with a history of homelessness, psychiatry, and/or a mild intellectual disability. In your department, 20 participants who, after a turbulent life, are working towards peace and stability.
You are the linchpin in daily operations: visibly present, collaborative, and strong in content.
The location consists of two departments: a regular department and a department for participants with psychiatric and addiction problems, as well as a mild intellectual disability (MID). Both departments have their own dynamics and expertise but share the same mission: to provide a safe living environment where people feel seen and receive the support they need.
You work in a multidisciplinary team with counselors, behavioral scientists, nurses, night watchmen, and caretakers.

What you do

Support the department manager in daily affairs.
Monitor the work floor and ensure that work processes run smoothly.
Ensure that agreements are met and colleagues know what to expect.
Coach Personal Counselors and Group Counselors in their daily work.
Stimulate ownership and contribute to a professional feedback culture.
Collaborate with Trajectory Managers and Behavioral Scientists to monitor the substantive course per participant and ensure it is visible on the work floor.
Communicate clearly and accessibly, taking into account the participant's background and remaining consistent in expectations.

You work with people who have not always had an easy path and know how to build trust, even if it takes time.
You maintain an overview in a dynamic environment and continue to see the person behind the problems.

What they ask

A completed HBO education (Social Work, SPH, MWD, or comparable).
Demonstrable experience as a Personal Counselor.
Knowledge of and experience with the target group of addiction care and MID.
Experience with coaching or guiding colleagues.
You dare to steer work processes, even if it causes resistance.
An initiative-rich, decisive, and reflective ability.
You are a Christian (Catholic, Protestant, etc.) and can indicate what that means to you.
