Contribute to building a new care department within a forensic psychiatric center. As a therapeutic employee, you make a difference for detainees with complex psychiatric problems. You contribute to recovery and safety.
What you will do.
- Guide detainees with complex psychiatric problems.
- Provide structure, support, and guidance tailored to the individual needs of the patient.
- Work intensively in a driven and close-knit multidisciplinary team including a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, and case manager.
- Coach colleagues in applying conversation techniques.
- Contribute ideas on complex situations and to the further development of care quality.
- Maintain an overview, monitor the main lines, and be an important link between the team and the department head.
- Ensure a safe living and treatment environment.
- Guide patients in daily activities.
- Maintain contact with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Make an important contribution to the recovery process.
- Work according to the Forensic High & Intensive Care (F-HIC) methodology, which focuses on safety, patient contact, preventing escalations, and providing appropriate care.
What they ask
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably Social Work or a comparable education.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in psychiatry (within or outside a forensic psychiatric center).
- Coaching and coordinating qualities.
- Proficient in applying various conversation techniques.
- Able to switch well between different situations.
- Mentally and physically resilient.
- Remain calm in complex or crisis situations.
- Flexible deployment across different departments (men, women, and mixed).
- Willingness to work irregular shifts within a secure environment.

Practical
- A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required.
- A physical aptitude test (sports test) and medical examination are part of the application procedure.
- In the first six months, you will follow the Basic Professional Training.
- You will be trained by an experienced colleague.
- During the training period (2 x 3 weeks), you must be able to follow the training full-time.
- A shadowing day (or part of a day) in the department is part of the procedure.
- An assessment may be part of the procedure.
- A reference check may be part of the application procedure.
