General Practitioner

A hospital is looking for a general practitioner to support individuals with psychological suffering on their path to recovery. Care is profoundly human, delivered with professionalism and kindness. The hospital is transforming and developing new partnerships to build a more open and connected care network, closer to the patients.

The vision is to offer care pathways that extend beyond the hospital walls and concretely embody the philosophy of recovery, involving patients, their relatives, and all stakeholders in the field. The hospital allows for the hospitalization of adolescents and adults, primarily under medico-legal status. These patients often present multidimensional and complex psychiatric issues, combining psychological suffering with behavioral and social difficulties.

Due to their pathologies, these individuals have a life expectancy 15 to 20 years shorter than the general population, mainly due to somatic causes. The ambition of the general medicine department is to transition from somatic follow-up of individuals with complex and multidimensional psychiatric issues to a global approach to patient care, focused on recovery and overall health.

What you will do. As a general practitioner, you will notably be responsible for:

• Providing somatic care
• Paying attention to both curative and preventive care
• Applying an individualized care approach
• Participating in a multidisciplinary approach

The general medicine department assigns general practitioners to each care unit. There are 10 units, each with a specific therapeutic project related to the patients admitted. Three of these units will be specifically assigned to you. You will have the opportunity to be a member of the ethics committee. A monthly service meeting is organized (1h), as well as two monthly medical consultations (2 x 1h).
