Area Sales Manager
This role is within a stable international organization, part of a strong industrial group. The organization supports clients worldwide with quality tools, technical expertise, and smart process solutions. You will work locally, close to your customers. You will collaborate with a close-knit sales team of Area Sales Managers, Key Account Managers, and technical specialists. As an Area Sales Manager, you are responsible for a specific province.
Your focus is on professional B2B clients in the manufacturing industry, metalworking, machine building, maintenance departments, and technical workshops. Your interlocutors include buyers, production managers, maintenance managers, workshop managers, and technical specialists. The role consists of approximately 80% account management and 20% new business development.
What you do
- Manage and further develop existing clients in the assigned province.
- Introduce new product groups and solutions to existing clients.
- Detect client needs by actively listening, asking probing questions, and thinking technically-commercially.
- Build new client relationships when clear opportunities arise in your region.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers, fellow Area Sales Managers, and technical specialists.
- Prepare and execute client visits, demos, and commercial follow-up.
- Identify market developments, client opportunities, and commercial priorities.
- Independently plan your agenda, route, and client approach.
On average, you will be on the road 3 to 4 days per week for client visits. The remaining time is used for preparation, follow-up, consultation with colleagues, quotes, reporting, and planning from your home office.
Profile
We are looking for an autonomous commercial professional who enjoys being close to clients and draws energy from relationship management, advice, and results. You are strong in building trust, recognizing opportunities, and fostering sustainable client growth.
- Preferably a technical background, for example, electromechanics, electricity, or mechanics, possibly supplemented with a graduate degree.
- At least 2 to 5 years of experience in a comparable commercial role.
- Excellent Dutch and professional expression in English and/or German.
- Ideally resides in the assigned province or in the immediate vicinity.
- Works independently, plans proactively, and is comfortable in a remote role.
- Affinity with technical products, manufacturing industry, tools, machining.
- Experience with larger clients or key account environments is a plus.
