Staff Member Education Development, Education Policy and Quality Assurance

You advise and guide a limited number of assigned study programs in curriculum development and quality assurance of education as an educational supporter.

  • You form a bridge between the central services and the study programs of an educational institution.
  • You supplement educational support activities with policy support tasks, which may vary depending on the priorities of the department.
  • You contribute to frameworks regarding educational policy themes (e.g., Lifelong Learning, AI, sustainability, learning in partnership, inclusion, competency-based education, entrepreneurial action) and quality assurance themes.
  • The goal is to shape institutional policy, inspire study programs, and introduce changes.
  • Short-term themes include developing and operationalizing a quality assurance system for lifelong learning activities within the institution and its European University Alliance.
  • You implement new quality assurance surveys in the study programs.
  • You integrate AI into the curricula of study programs.
  • You shape frameworks regarding learning in partnership.
  • You contribute to the establishment of educational goals in the institutional strategic plan as well as to the implementation of the set goals.
  • You shape policy frameworks and then translate them into hands-on guidelines or supporting documents for teachers.
  • You may be asked to give workshops or professionalization sessions for teachers on these themes.

Profile

  • You hold a master's degree, preferably one of the following: master (or Science) degrees in pedagogical sciences (option education and training), pedagogical sciences (pedagogy and educational sciences), educational sciences, educational sciences, training and educational sciences (or equivalent).
  • You preferably have experience in/knowledge of Flemish higher education, educational support, or quality assurance within a higher education context.
  • You are proficient with technology.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, both orally and in writing.
  • You bring people together and build bridges in an international context.
  • You are analytical and solution-oriented.
  • You tackle complex challenges creatively and accurately.
  • You can provide constructive critical feedback on colleagues' work to further strengthen the content.
  • You proactively take responsibility and work independently, without losing sight of team goals.
  • You see opportunities and seize them.
  • You flexibly adapt your approach to the needs of various stakeholders and enjoy working in a multicultural environment.

Practical

  • Appointment as Administrative and Technical Staff and remunerated according to class 5 (grade 7).
  • Full-time contract for one year, with the possibility of extension, subject to a positive evaluation and availability of resources.
