Event Broker

A partnership of local authorities is working to strengthen the liveability, social cohesion, and identity of a region. Events play an important role in this. For a project focused on future-proof events, an enthusiastic and connecting event broker is sought. This professional will work on improving support for event organizers in the municipalities involved.

Many organizers, often volunteers, are spending increasing amounts of time on regulations, permits, safety requirements, sustainability, and finding volunteers. The role is that of a connecting link between organizers, local authorities, safety partners, volunteer organizations, and other relevant parties.

What you do

  • Support for organizers: you advise at least 30 event organizations annually on permits, safety, regulations, and organization, and develop a regional package with formats, checklists, sample plans, and guidelines.
  • Simplification of procedures: you investigate possibilities to simplify procedures and provide regional advice to reduce administrative burdens.
  • Knowledge sharing: you realize a regional digital event desk or knowledge platform, organize knowledge meetings or training sessions, and develop a proposal for regional collaboration forms, such as a volunteer pool for traffic controllers, first aiders, and event supporters.
  • Safeguarding: you develop a proposal for structural support after the project's conclusion and ensure that the involved authorities have a feasible future scenario.

The result is a functioning regional support network, a digital knowledge and information platform, a detailed proposal for structural support, and structurally resolved and safeguarded bottlenecks.

What they ask

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience as an advisor or project leader in the event industry.
  • Work experience with events in relation to governments, volunteer organizations, recreation and tourism, culture, or a comparable field of work.
  • Ability to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and an integrity statement.
  • CV drafted in Dutch, maximum 5 pages (excluding cover page and a motivation letter of maximum 1 page), submitted as PDF.
  • CV must contain at least 2 references, with name, function, and organization.

Preferences.

  • Completed HBO bachelor's degree in Events, Public Administration, or a similar field; please explain in your CV why it is a similar field.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience as an advisor or project leader in the event industry.
  • Work experience with a volunteer organization.
  • Work experience with a public organization.
  • Work experience with process improvement.
