Product Quality Analyst

LiegeOn site40 hours/week<3months

As part of the digital transformation of a European retail group, we are looking for a freelance Product Quality Analyst to strengthen the Digital Product team.

  • The group has a significant network of sales points in Europe as well as several e-commerce platforms. The quality, stability, and performance of these platforms are major challenges to support business growth and ensure an optimal customer experience.
  • The consultant will work in an international environment, at the heart of interactions between the Product, Development, Digital, and Business teams.

What you will do.

  • As a Product Quality Analyst, you will be the QA reference for digital platforms and play a key role in securing production deployments.
  • Your main responsibility is to ensure that every evolution, correction, or new functionality meets the expected quality level before its deployment to production.
  • You act as a true quality control point between the Product, Development, Digital, and Business teams: you challenge evolutions, identify risks, validate their proper functioning, and contribute to the decision for production deployment.
  • Particular attention is paid to the most critical customer journeys — account creation, authentication, navigation, cart, checkout, payment, and orders — to guarantee a reliable and regression-free user experience.
  • Beyond test execution, you are responsible for the product's quality vision: anticipating risks, structuring test campaigns, monitoring incidents, and continuously improving QA practices.

Responsibilities.

  • Be the quality reference for digital products
  • Ensure the functional quality of the various digital platforms.
  • Be the primary QA contact for the Product, Development, Digital, and Business teams.
  • Challenge functional evolutions to identify risks before their production deployment.
  • Determine the necessary test coverage level based on the criticality of the evolutions.
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and prioritize anomalies.
  • Ensure the application of homogeneous quality standards across different European markets.
  • Secure releases and production deployments
  • Ensure that each evolution is sufficiently tested and compliant before its deployment.
  • Design and maintain test scenarios and cases associated with product evolutions.
  • Perform functional, exploratory, and regression tests.
  • Prioritize securing critical user journeys: customer account, login, cart, checkout, payment, and orders.
  • Validate bug fixes and new functionalities.
  • Identify anomalies or risks that could jeopardize a production deployment.
  • Provide a clear vision of the quality level and risks before each release to help teams make the deployment decision.
  • Perform post-production checks to verify platform stability and the absence of regression.
  • Product support and incident management
  • Be a privileged point of contact for incidents reported by internal teams.
  • Qualify and analyze incidents to identify their origin.
  • Evaluate their criticality and participate in their prioritization.
  • Collaborate with development teams until their resolution.
  • Ensure clear follow-up of progress with various stakeholders.
  • Capitalize on incidents to prevent their recurrence.
  • Continuous improvement
  • Monitor the quality and stability of applications after production deployments.
  • Identify recurring problems and contribute to the analysis of their causes.
  • Evolve QA standards, methods, and processes.
  • Propose actions to make platforms and releases more reliable.
  • Gradually improve test coverage.
  • Contribute to test automation, when relevant.

Profile

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Product Quality, Product Support, or a similar role.
  • Significant experience with digital products, ideally in an e-commerce environment.
  • Experience in a role involving release validation and securing production deployments.
  • Very good understanding of digital customer journeys and the challenges related to user experience.
  • Ability to assess the criticality of an anomaly and its potential impact on the business or the customer.
  • Ability to investigate a problem autonomously and in a structured manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Technical skills.

  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience in designing and writing test cases.
  • Good command of browser developer tools, especially Chrome DevTools.
  • Experience with API testing using Postman or an equivalent tool.
  • Knowledge of test automation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics 4 is a plus.

Languages.

  • Fluent French.
  • Professional English is essential.
  • Dutch is appreciated.

Qualities.

  • Strong quality culture and capable of assuming a QA reference role.
  • Able to step back from a release and evaluate its risks.
  • Autonomous and able to quickly take charge of a complex digital environment.
  • Methodical and demanding on quality.
  • Able to seek the cause of a problem rather than just noting the anomaly.
  • Comfortable challenging both Product and technical teams when the quality of a release requires it.
  • Solution-oriented and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Able to work effectively with Product, Development, Digital, and Business teams.
