Do you want to make a difference for families in need of a new start? In this challenging role as a residential counselor, you help families on their way to more peace, stability, and independence. You make an impact where it truly matters.
You will work in a new department that you will help shape and build with your colleagues. This offers an opportunity to actively contribute to establishing a successful department. This department provides temporary housing for 26 (single-parent) families. Each family has its own room and receives guidance and training focused on independence. Within a defined period of three to five months, families work towards a sustainable transition to their own home.
The organization is there for the most vulnerable in society: those without help. From a Christian motivation, assistance is provided to vulnerable men, women, and children who need support in the areas of (mental) health, (protected) housing, finances, work, and upbringing.
What you do
As a residential counselor, you are the trusted face of the location. You work with families facing multiple problems, for whom peace, structure, and a safe environment are essential. You contribute to this daily by:
- Building a relationship of trust with the families
- Supporting them in the practical aspects of daily life
- Signaling changes, concerns, or risks and discussing these with the personal counselor and colleagues
- Contributing to a safe and stable living environment for parents and children
- Supporting the personal counselor in the implementation of the care plan and administrative tasks (urgent applications, outflow)
- Assisting with cooking or activities with parents and children
- Drafting reports and ensuring a carefully maintained file
- Applying knowledge and experience during group training sessions to help families live independently
Profile
- Completed MBO 4 education in Social Care, Social Work, or a comparable field
- Affinity with the target group and the drive to make a difference for families
- Stress-resistant and able to maintain an overview, even during peak moments
- Flexible and willing to work in varying shifts
- Proactive in signaling and decisive in action
- Multilingualism is a plus
- You are a Christian (Catholic, Protestant, etc.) and can articulate what that means to you
- A positive Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required
- Reference checks and diploma verification are part of the application procedure
- An assessment may be used during the procedure
Practical
- Salary: CAO Social Work scale 6
- Contract: a one-year contract with the intention of extension or permanent employment
- Development: a career budget of 1.5% and ample opportunities through internal development programs
- Travel expense scheme: mileage allowance or NS Business Card and a bicycle plan
- Extras: vitality days, year-end bonus, holiday allowance, pension scheme, and annual sports budget
