A government organization provides daily care to individuals undergoing a custodial sentence or a measure involving deprivation of liberty. Within a forensic psychiatric center, patients are admitted from a care and pedagogical perspective, with the aim of protecting society and creating an environment for optimal treatment, so that the individual can return to society with a minimal chance of recidivism.
What you do
- Within regulations and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team, contribute to guiding and treating detained patients.
- Advise the multidisciplinary team and provide expertise development regarding pharmacotherapy, interaction with detained patients, and risk-driven work.
- Work closely with the psychiatrist and contribute to an optimal treatment climate.
- Provide tailored care and work towards better reintegration.
- Under the supervision of the psychiatrist, conduct admission interviews, perform risk assessment and diagnostic research, and initiate medicinal treatment pathways.
- Be part of the multidisciplinary treatment team (with head of treatment, department head, psychiatrist, basic psychologist, social worker, and forensic-therapeutic workers).
- Participate in regular consultation meetings to coordinate patient care and advise the Director of Treatment Affairs.
- Advise on care policy and freedom-restricting measures.
- Assess applications for freedoms and aftercare trajectories.
