Asset Manager Portfolio & Lifecycle
Nearly 100,000 homes and buildings run on systems from a sustainable energy supplier. You help determine how long they continue to run well, and at what cost. This organization is the largest sustainable heat supplier in the Netherlands. We develop, build, and manage local heating and cooling systems, without natural gas and with zero CO₂ emissions. With about 150 colleagues, we aim to set the standard for sustainable energy in Europe. You ensure that these systems remain reliable and affordable in the long term.
What you will do. Asset management in the heat transition is a young field. The questions are big and the answers are not yet ready: Which malfunction is a coincidence and which is a pattern? Where is the risk in 10 years, and what does it cost if you do nothing now? At this organization, you provide those answers for your part of the portfolio. Asset Operations focuses on today's performance and brings in practical knowledge. You look ahead and translate that knowledge into long-term choices.
With data, with business cases that hold up, and with the freedom to actually make those choices. What you decide now, you will see reflected in our systems for years to come. Specifically, you will do this:
- You will take ownership of your own part of the portfolio. You determine the lifecycle plans and the direction for the coming years.
- You determine where investments yield the most. Your business cases form the basis for choices about maintenance and reinvestments.
- Many standards do not yet exist. What you learn from 1 system, you will make the standard for the entire portfolio.
- If a problem recurs, you take the initiative. You start the root cause analysis, draw conclusions, and ensure it doesn't happen with other assets.
- You translate requirements regarding reliability, compliance, safety, and sustainability into frameworks that you set up yourself.
- You are the fixed point of contact when new assets transition from Construction to operation. This ensures they are set up correctly from day 1.
- Asset Lifecycle Optimization is growing. You contribute to building the team, the working method, and the team's role within the organization.
What they ask You think in terms of lifecycles and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). You participate in decisions about large investments. Therefore, you have enough technical understanding to ask the right questions to engineers and Asset Operations. This way, you know what downtime means for performance, risk, and costs, and you substantiate choices that are technically and financially sound. What you bring:
- You have demonstrable experience with heat pumps, mechanical installations, or sustainable energy systems.
- You have experience in asset management, portfolio management, or a comparable strategic role in a technical environment. Think of energy, infrastructure, network management, water, or real estate.
- You have an HBO or WO education, preferably technical or business-oriented.
- You make clear decisions from data, and you can explain those choices just as easily to an engineer as to finance.
- You have VCA VOL and GPI, or you will obtain them with us.
Practical
- Pension through BPF Bouw, with a high employer contribution.
