Asset Management Supervisor
The asset management sector is complex and constantly evolving. More than 300 asset managers collectively manage over €2,000 billion in assets. Developments such as a new pension system create new risks and shift responsibilities. This requires sharp supervision and a good understanding of the sector.
What you will do. As a supervisor, you will play a key role. You will supervise managers of investment funds, investment firms, crowdfunding platforms, and custodians. You will investigate how they handle risks, for example in the areas of governance, sustainability, or outsourcing, and assess whether this is in line with applicable rules. You will regularly encounter grey areas. You will analyze specific situations and regulations, effectively use information and data, and engage in discussions with institutions.
In this way, you will make risks visible and contribute to confidence in the sector.
- Conduct investigations into asset managers, based on signals, legal changes, trends, and supervision objectives.
- Assess risks around themes such as risk management, remuneration policy, and outsourcing.
- Translate new European regulations, such as AIFMD II, into policy and supervision practice.
- Maintain substantive contact with institutions and stakeholders, and share findings.
- Develop into a specialist within one or more supervision themes.
Profile
- A completed university (WO) education, preferably in a financial-economic, legal, business, or other relevant field.
- At least three years of relevant work experience, preferably in a role where you work with financial laws and regulations. For example, as a compliance officer, consultant, or policy advisor at a financial institution, ministry, or supervisory authority.
- Knowledge of the asset management sector and regulations such as the Wft, AIFMD, MiFID II is a plus.
- Analytical thinking: you quickly grasp complex dossiers and can distinguish main issues from minor ones.
- Results-oriented: you focus on achieving goals and ensure that your work delivers the desired result.
- Persuasiveness: you are a strong discussion partner and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Ownership: you take responsibility for your activities and ensure proactive execution.
