As a Youth Consultant PGB, you handle applications within the Youth Act where a personal budget (PGB) plays an important role. You investigate what a young person and family need.
For PGB, you carefully assess whether the conditions are met, what intervention is appropriate, who will provide the support, and whether the whole is substantively and legally correct. This work requires knowledge of youth and family, as well as an interest in rules, processes, careful substantiation, and decision-making. You don't need to be a PGB specialist yet, but you should be interested in this field.
You will work within a Center for Youth and Family (CJG) of a government organization, in the PGB-SMI section. Knowledge of youth and family comes together here with laws and regulations, processes, and municipal decision-making. You will work with colleagues who have specialized knowledge of PGB and SMI and will be given the space to further build that knowledge yourself. You will receive guidance from experienced colleagues, discuss cases, and receive feedback on your research and decisions.
This way, you will grow towards increasingly independent work and responsibility for your own files.
What you do
- You conduct conversations with young people, parents, and involved professionals and carefully map out the situation.
- You gather the necessary information, ask targeted questions, and determine what support is appropriate and necessary.
- For PGB, you assess, among other things:
- what young people, parents, and their network can do themselves
- whether a PGB is appropriate and meets the conditions
- whether informal care is appropriate and sufficiently substantiated
- whether the proposed care provider and support align with what is needed
- whether all information is available to make a careful decision.
- You also handle applications for Social Medical Indication (SMI) childcare and applications involving non-contracted youth care.
- You clearly document your research and assessments, write reports, and make and motivate decisions.
- You collaborate with colleagues within the CJG, behavioral scientists, quality employees, and other involved professionals.
- Your responsibility lies primarily with carefully investigating the application, making a professional assessment, and taking a well-substantiated decision.
Profile
We are looking for someone who works diligently and decisively. You ask probing questions if something is unclear and do not simply accept what a parent, provider, or other professional proposes. You investigate what is needed, check if it is correct, and then make your own professional assessment. You dare to make a decision and take responsibility for it. You can calmly and clearly explain how you arrived at your assessment and why something is granted, partially, or not at all. Furthermore, you have:
- A completed relevant HBO education, for example Social Work, Pedagogy, SPH, MWD, or similar.
- A valid SKJ registration (this is a strict requirement).
- Experience with young people, families, and upbringing and development issues.
- Experience with investigating and analyzing requests for help.
- Good oral and written skills.
You can distinguish main and side issues well, ask targeted questions, and dare to form an independent professional judgment. Interest in PGB, laws and regulations, and municipal decision-making is important. Experience with PGB, SMI, or municipal decision-making is a plus.
