Data Analyst
As a Data Analyst within the Information Provision department, you convert data into insights that help make better choices. You work organization-wide on the development and improvement of information products and help colleagues and management to use data effectively and responsibly. You operate at the intersection of data, information, and organization.
You know how to pinpoint the information needs of colleagues, translate these into concrete information products, and ensure that data is available in a reliable, understandable, and usable way. In doing so, you contribute to a professional information provision that supports the organization in its daily activities and its development.
What you will do. As a Data Analyst within the Information Provision (IV) department, you will work for the various parts of a regional safety and health organization. You keep a close eye on developments in the field of data, information provision, and data-driven working, and translate these into opportunities for your team and the organization.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of information products, dashboards, and reports.
- Combine, process, and analyze data from different sources.
- Develop and manage data models and Power BI reports, ensuring reliable and manageable information provision.
- Translate information needs and organizational issues into concrete data analyses, dashboards, and information products.
- Analyze information flows and identify opportunities to improve information processes and data quality.
- Advise colleagues and management on the use, interpretation, and possibilities of data.
- Identify developments in the field of data and information provision and translate them into opportunities.
- Contribute ideas on the setup and further professionalization of data-driven working within the organization.
- Actively collaborate with Functional Management, Information Management, other IV specialists, and the various organizational units.
- Guide and involve end-users in the use and interpretation of information products.
- Contribute to organization-wide projects and issues where data and information play an important role.
Profile
- Strong analytical skills, without losing sight of the organization and the user.
- Curious, independent, and proactive.
- Asks questions when something is unclear and dares to be critical when a requested solution is not the best.
- Can translate complex data and analyses into an understandable story and knows how to engage colleagues in the possibilities and limitations of data.
- A true connector who enjoys collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and can easily switch between content experts, IV specialists, and management.
- Demonstrable HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
- Completed HBO degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Administration with a data specialization, Informatics, or another relevant field.
- Knowledge of information processes and experience with processing, analyzing, and visualizing data.
- Experience combining, analyzing, and integrating data from different sources.
- Experience developing, managing, and continuously improving dashboards and data models in Power BI.
- Experience with SQL and/or other techniques for processing and analyzing data.
- Can work independently but actively seeks collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Able to explain technical and analytical topics understandably to non-technical colleagues.
- Power BI and SQL certification is a plus.
