Debt Counselor

A municipal organization is looking for a debt counselor to support residents in achieving financial stability. The emphasis is on a proactive approach with significant attention to the resident and their issues.
What you do
- Conduct intake interviews and carefully map the financial situation of residents.
- Guide residents in stabilizing their financial situation and arranging appropriate provisions.
- Assess the request for help and determine, together with the resident, what support is needed.
- Draw up an action plan and, where necessary, initiate follow-up steps or trajectories.
- Approach clients with payment arrears and try to prevent accumulating debts as part of early intervention.
Profile
- Accessible and enthusiastic professional.
- Able to identify financial problems early and guide residents towards a sustainable solution.
- Experienced in phase 1 of the debt counseling process.
- Flexible and dares to implement new, innovative solutions.
- Analytical ability to translate the request for help into an action plan.
- Work experience at a municipal organization is a plus, but not a requirement.

- Has 1 or more references.
- Results-oriented.
- Possesses good communication skills.
- Has recent work experience in a similar position.
- Can work both independently and in a team.
- Fits within the team.
- Possesses political and administrative sensitivity.
