An organization is setting up a new laboratory to support clinical studies with high-quality clinical laboratory diagnostics. An experienced professional is sought to provide scientific and technical oversight for the establishment and further development of the laboratory. This is an advisory role, not focused on daily operational management. Close collaboration with the Laboratory Manager is essential.
What you do
- Provide scientific and medical oversight of laboratory research and quality control.
- Guide method validation and the introduction of new assays.
- Review and approve important laboratory procedures and documentation.
- Support ISO 15189 accreditation, audits, and advise on compliance with associated laws and regulations.
- Provide scientific advice on protocols, complex laboratory results, and answer client questions.
- Advise on laboratory strategy, technology, and future testing capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager to ensure compliance with relevant scientific and quality standards.
What they ask
- Experienced clinical chemist or a similarly qualified professional in clinical laboratory diagnostics.
- Extensive expertise in clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation research, serology, and urine analysis.
- Experience with ISO 15189, laboratory accreditation, and quality systems.
- Experience with method validation and the interpretation of clinical laboratory results.
- Appropriate professional training, qualifications, and/or registration aligned with the scope of the role.
- Experience with clinical studies or within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
