You will learn the trade mainly in practice, participating in infrastructure projects and being guided by experienced colleagues. If desired, you can follow a BBL (vocational training) program, attending school one day a week. Step by step, you will develop into a skilled worker in ground, road, and water construction.

- You assist with the construction of roads and sewers
- You dig trenches and help with earthworks
- You learn to work with tools and smaller machines
- You follow instructions from the foreman and supervisor
- You collaborate with machine operators and ensure their safety at work
- You ensure the construction site remains tidy and safe

Guidance. You will be part of a team working on projects. You will receive guidance from two dedicated individuals:
- The master craftsman: this is an experienced colleague on the project who will teach you the practical work. He will teach you the tricks of the trade, work with you, and help you to continuously improve.
- The work-study supervisor: he will guide you through your training. He will check if your learning goals are being achieved, maintain contact with the school, and help you with any questions about your training or progress.
