Department Head

A government organization is looking for a Department Head for a judicial institution.

• The institution houses over 1,100 detainees spread across various living sections.

What you will do.

• Final responsibility for ensuring daily detainee care in a living section.
• Leading approximately 15 institutional workers.
• Ensuring and improving the quality of the living section.
• Managing primary processes, drafting and executing the partial detention plan, personnel planning, and operational management.
• Being visible in the department and the point of contact for both the team and the detainees.
• Creating a positive and stimulating work and living environment.
• Coordinating daily detainee care and regularly chairing department meetings.
• Closely coordinating matters with the Deputy Facility Director and various internal disciplines.
• Handling emergencies with determination and professionalism.
• Collaborating closely with other department heads, aligning initiatives and working methods.
• Contributing to the assessment of new policy impact and managing portfolios related to processes within all living sections or the entire facility.
• Developing elaborated proposals for adjusting and improving procedures and processes.
• Actively contributing to the facility's annual plan and progress reports.
• Stimulating the qualitative development of employees and ensuring they adequately perform their duties.
• Conducting performance review (POP) discussions, utilizing coaching and didactic skills.
• Guiding at both individual and team (process) levels through observation, reporting, and signaling.
• Responsible for personnel planning and the department budget.
