Project Manager Refugee Reception

Ultimately responsible for the integrated management of the refugee reception program within a government organization.

  • Ensures strategic direction for the reception of asylum seekers, Ukrainian displaced persons, and any crisis (emergency) reception locations.
  • Guarantees coherence between administrative decision-making, spatial development, participation, safety, finance, and implementation.
  • Is the primary advisor to the management, college, and board on the refugee reception dossier.

What you do

  • Develops and implements the refugee reception program.
  • Manages coherence between the various reception issues.
  • Is the strategic point of contact for the board, management, relevant government agencies, and chain partners.
  • Advises on administrative and societal issues.
  • Drafts program strategies, risk analyses, decision-making documents, and administrative advice.
  • Monitors planning, finances, quality, and results of the underlying projects.
  • Ensures effective collaboration between internal teams, external partners, and societal stakeholders.
  • Addresses and resolves escalations, complex issues, and politically sensitive dossiers in a timely manner.
  • Is responsible for the setup and management of participation and communication strategies.
  • Is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and accountability to the board and management.

What they ask

  • Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years as a program manager, senior project manager, or comparable steering function within a government institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience with refugee reception, asylum reception, reception of Ukrainian displaced persons, or similar social reception issues.

Preferences.

  • Demonstrable work experience as a program manager within a political-administrative environment.
  • Demonstrable work experience with administrative advising of management, college, and/or board on complex social dossiers.
  • Demonstrable work experience with managing multiple project leaders, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders such as relevant government agencies and social partners.
