Chairman Social Advisory Council

Do you have an affinity with themes such as care, welfare, youth care, poverty, education, healthcare, elderly, and housing? Then this role as chairman of an advisory council is for you. The advisory council is independent and places the perspective of residents at its core.
We provide solicited and unsolicited advice on the social domain and are an important discussion partner for a government organization and social organizations. The council consists of ten members and a chairman. Our focus is on the quality of implementation of the Youth Act, Wmo, and Participation Act, with special attention to local implementation at neighborhood level.
What you will do. As chairman, you lead and represent the advisory council. You ensure good cooperation within the council, with the government organization, and with external partners.
- Maintains the network with residents, social organizations, and the board of mayor and aldermen;
- Is broadly familiar with the most important developments in the broad social domain;
- Is alert to social developments that influence the daily lives of residents;
- Keeps the common goal and the achievement of the intended results sharply in focus and knows how to connect different interests;
- Organizes and leads the monthly meeting;
- Stimulates cooperation within the team;
- Works with an annual plan and monitors progress and priorities;
- Provides, together with the council members, solicited and unsolicited advice to the board of mayor and aldermen on policy and implementation in the social domain.
Profile
- You have experience chairing meetings;
- You understand administrative relationships and municipal decision-making processes;
- You communicate clearly and can explain complex matters simply;
- You are an analytical thinker and connector;
- You stimulate democratic decision-making and are decisive;
- To prevent conflicts of interest, you do not work for a local (contracted) cooperation partner of the government organization or one of their subcontractors, the government organization, or are a member of the municipal council.
Practical
- Volunteer allowance of a maximum of € 1,900 per year.
- Direct influence on the social policy of the government organization.
- Collaboration with an administrative supporter.
