The medical department forms the heart of somatic care within Long-term Forensic Psychiatric Care. As a Medical Service Assistant, you play an indispensable role in the somatic care for residents of an institution. You ensure that medical services run smoothly and contribute to a safe and professional care environment.
What you will do.
- Ensure daily processes run smoothly, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on providing the best care for residents.
- Support the care manager, general practitioners, nursing specialist, and nurses in their daily activities.
- Organize consultations.
- Manage agendas.
- Schedule appointments.
- Communicate with residents.
- Handle medical correspondence.
- Support administrative processes, medication management, telephone triage, and meetings.
- Collaborate closely with internal colleagues and external healthcare partners, such as the pharmacy, dentist, physiotherapist, and hospitals.
Profile
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy.
- Energized by a dynamic healthcare environment.
- A sense of responsibility and an eye for safety are essential.
- Room for collaboration, personal initiative, and development.
What they ask
- Minimum MBO 4 diploma, preferably as a doctor's assistant, medical secretary, or a similar education with a medical background.
- Experience in an administrative support function, preferably within healthcare.
- Excellent command of the Dutch language, both verbally and in writing.
- Good skills in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working according to protocols and guidelines is a plus.
- Representative, customer-oriented, and integer.
- Work structured, easily set priorities, and quickly switch between different tasks.
- Takes initiative, works independently where necessary, and is a pleasant colleague who enjoys teamwork.
