You contribute to biodiversity research in a marine ecosystem. The research focuses on the impact of large infrastructure works on benthic life. You work independently on projects, supported by experienced colleagues.
What you will do.
- Research on biodiversity and benthic life in a marine area.
- Specific research into the impact of cable laying and the dumping of additional sediment on the marine benthic ecosystem.
- Conduct research based on seabed samples taken with a Van Veen grab and Sediment Profile Imaging.
- Provide valuable knowledge for the evaluation of the impact of these activities.
- Combine work at sea and in the lab with data analysis and reporting.
- Independently execute projects, working closely with colleagues for sampling, analyses, and lab work.
- Build extensive knowledge of 300 to 400 benthic species in an accredited laboratory.
- Opportunity to present work at conferences, nationally and internationally.
What they ask
- Master's degree in Biology, IMBRSea, Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of marine fauna.
- Demonstrable experience with analyzing research data and clearly presenting research results.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
