This vacancy arose due to a colleague's retirement and additional funds becoming available for educational support within an educational institution. A new colleague is sought to support teachers and mentors, and to work independently with students.
What you do
- Provide substitute lessons according to the available curriculum and agreed arrangements.
- Instruct and guide individual students and groups.
- Guide students in independent work, assignments, and other educational activities.
- Support teachers and mentors in guiding students.
- Supervise during tests.
- Supervise during breaks.
- Identify when a student needs extra attention and coordinate this with colleagues.
- Where appropriate, prepare and develop supportive educational and instructional material.
Profile
- Pedagogically strong: easily connect with young people, observe what is happening in a group, and know when to support or set boundaries.
- Confident in front of a group: able to independently take over a class, give clear instructions, and ensure calm and structure.
- Flexible: easily switch between different groups, students, and tasks.
- Collaboration-oriented: work independently, but actively seek alignment with teachers and mentors and report relevant specifics.
- Possess a suitable education, for example, mbo-4 teaching assistant, Pedagogy, or Social Work.
- Pedagogical and didactic skills are important for this position.
- A teaching qualification is not required for this position.
Practical
- The position is classified in scale 6-7 according to the collective labor agreement for secondary education (€ 2,704 to € 3,984 gross per month based on 1.0 FTE, as of November 1, 2026).
