As a civil engineering expert, you directly contribute to the phased redevelopment of an organization's future operational areas. You translate strategic development visions into technically feasible infrastructure concepts. You investigate how existing activities can remain maximally operational during the preparation for the future configuration. You are the connecting factor between internal departments such as Master Planning, Operations, and Engineering.
What you do
- Analyze above-ground and underground infrastructure
- Determine the impact of future dock infrastructure on existing sewers, utility lines, high and low voltage networks, telecom, and network connections
- Develop technical concept and feasibility studies for the expansion, redevelopment, and optimization of operational areas
- Prepare conceptual designs for site layouts, roads, quays, buildings, utilities, and supporting infrastructure
- Develop and evaluate smart phasing scenarios for brownfield developments, so that critical activities can remain fully operational during the transition
- Technically coordinate with internal and external parties regarding utilities, electrical, ICT, and network infrastructure
- Conduct technical analysis of investment files and permit processes
- Prepare budgets and technical business cases
- Guide external engineering firms
Profile
- Master's degree in civil engineering (civil or industrial engineer) or equivalent by experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects
- Familiar with concept studies, master planning, project development, or site development
- Experience in preparing and presenting technical studies
- Knowledge of port infrastructure, terminal areas, or brownfield development is a strong plus
- Able to convert complex technical challenges into practical solutions
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English
