Lecturer Social, Health & Organizational Psychology

Within the Psychology department of a public educational institution, a lecturer is sought for the Social, Health and Organizational Psychology (SHOP) section. The role involves providing education and guiding students.

What you will do.

  • Provide education within the Bachelor's program in Psychology and the English-language Academic Master's program of the section.
  • Be deployed for psychology education in other Bachelor's and Master's programs.
  • Conduct working groups and/or lectures within various courses in the second and third year of the predominantly Dutch-language Bachelor's program and within the English-language Master's program.
  • Create and grade assignments and exams.
  • Perform tutoring tasks.
  • Supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses.
  • Undertake co-coordination tasks.
  • Guide students in setting up, conducting, and reporting scientific research.
  • Be actively involved in one of the department's research groups to ensure the connection between research and education.

What they ask

  • Completed (research) Master's degree in psychology or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable academic and methodological expertise to guide Bachelor's and Master's students in independent scientific research.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the domains of social psychology, health psychology, or work and organizational psychology, and the willingness to acquire new content where necessary.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in English at C1 level.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Dutch at C1 level, or the ability to achieve this level within one year of employment.

Preferences.

  • Ideally, a (nearly) completed PhD in psychology or another relevant discipline.
  • Preferably, a Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO), or the willingness to obtain it in the short term.
