Do you want to make a difference at night for people with psychological vulnerabilities, while largely being able to sleep during your shift? At a mental healthcare residential facility, you ensure peace, safety, and proximity during the night. You are the stable factor when a client needs you. This residential facility houses 24 adults (30-70 years) with psychological vulnerabilities. Clients live partly independently in studios on site and partly in the neighborhood.
A good night's sleep is essential for their recovery. You do not work alone in the building; multiple care departments are present, including a Nursing & Care department with a waking night shift and a VGZ department with a sleeping night shift. In case of emergencies, BHV situations, or unrest, you collaborate. You work independently at night but are part of the permanent team at the facility. Additionally, you can rely on colleagues in the building and the crisis team when needed.
What you do
- Your shift starts at 10:00 PM.
- You make a round of the department.
- You guide clients as needed in concluding the day and ensure a calm transition into the night.
- Afterwards, you sleep on site.
- If you are called awake? You assess what the client needs: a conversation, reassurance, or practical support.
- You maintain calm and act independently when necessary.
- Your shift runs from 10:00 PM to 08:00 AM.
Profile
- An MBO-3 diploma in a healthcare field, or you are halfway through a Nursing or Social Work program.
- Experience in mental healthcare (GGZ).
- Willingness to follow BHV, medication safety, and general safety training to be able to work independently at night.
- Stress-resistant, independent, and good at assessing what a client needs.
- You exude calm and possess good communication skills.
