As a Functional Business Intelligence Administrator, you manage and develop BI solutions such as Power BI, Cognos, and BI-VEST, which support reliable management information and fact-based decision-making. You collaborate with consultants, architects, and IT specialists on incidents, changes, continuous development, and architecture, ensuring that data truly adds value to the organization. You manage an integrated solution that provides real-time, reliable management information: a Single Point of Truth (S. P. O.
T.) that connects business and IT. BI-VEST is built on an object-driven data model and the Microsoft BI stack, forming the core of fact-based steering and decision-making. The organization also uses Power BI and Cognos dashboards and reports. You operate at the intersection of management, continuous development, and architecture, and act as a first and second-line specialist for incidents, user requests, and changes.
You work closely with team members, consultants, architects, and other IT disciplines within a specialized IT department.
What you do
- Support & Management: incidents and disruptions, application maintenance, management of development, acceptance, and production environments, license and user management, and contact with software vendors.
- Changes & Continuous Development: performing functional and technical impact analyses, implementing and testing changes, and ensuring correct handover to management and production.
- Design & Architecture: supporting technical design, contributing to architectural overviews, and ensuring alignment with established architectural principles.
- Configuration and Release Management: performing configuration management in accordance with ITIL/ASL principles, managing configuration items and versions in the CMDB, and making dependencies transparent.
What they ask
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) or MO4 education with HBO working and thinking level (demonstrable via assessment), in the direction of ICT, engineering, or (technical) business administration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with application management, preferably in a BI or data-driven environment.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with Power BI.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience with service management (incidents, changes, releases) in a similar role.
- Knowledge of or experience with the Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS is a plus).
- Experience with functional management of BI-VEST, Power BI, and/or Cognos within a government organization is a plus.
- Affinity with data modeling and object-driven designs.
- Understanding of business processes and management information.
- Knowledge of and experience with Agile working (Scrum, Kanban).
- Knowledge of Prince2.
