SAP Solution Architect

A government organization is starting the realization phase of a program focused on Asset Life Cycle. In this, the defined target architecture will be realized in several steps together with a SAP implementation partner. This includes S/4 HANA as a central platform, which integrates with (expert) applications such as IoT, Geospatial (GIS), ACC, ServiceNow. The basis for this is a renewed process design for the Asset Management landscape.

Specific parts will be developed in a planned manner with a clear end goal ('waterfall'), while other parts – new modules and integrations – will be developed iteratively.

What you will do.

• Responsible for designing, approving, and reviewing designs for developments within the domain.
• Monitoring architecture and security standards.
• Contributing to the quality assurance of the program and the realization of the target architecture.
• Testing and reviewing the realization by IT teams and the SAP implementation partner.
• Providing solicited and unsolicited advice on the quality, coherence, and future-proofness of solutions.
• Constructively challenging design choices.
• Advising the program manager and business owner.
• Representing the program, among others, in architecture board and SAP Design Committee meetings.
• Making a significant contribution to a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation within an asset-intensive organization.
• Elaborating, evaluating, and guiding technical designs during the realization phase.
• Collaborating on solution and integration designs.
• Proposing a roadmap when the target architecture cannot be realized directly.
• Validating/collaborating on translating functional requirements into a technical setup of applications and interfaces, including proactively identifying potential bottlenecks.
• Actively coordinating to jointly make decisions on how to deal with these bottlenecks.
• Analyzing the impact of the solution on different departments/domains (Asset Development, Purchasing, Finance) and integrating these interests into the design.
• Mapping and monitoring end-to-end processes and data flows within the asset management landscape.
• Evaluating SAP EAM as a core solution and identifying additional systems or integrations (e.g., with ArcGIS) for specific needs.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into a technically feasible and future-proof architecture.
• Proactively identifying risks and opportunities and anticipating them in the design.
• Reviewing change proposals and checking for the fit-to-standard approach and other architectural principles.
• Ensuring that solutions fit into the larger whole and monitoring the impact of other development trajectories on the SAP platform relative to the Asset Lifecycle processes.
