Back office Civil Affairs Employee

ZeelandHybrid24 hours/week<3months

You will temporarily strengthen the Civil Affairs team of a government organization and diligently perform tasks related to the Personal Records Database (BRP) and civil status. Additionally, you will carry out tasks related to deaths and burials and support daily service provision. The activities are an integral part of regular operations and are performed within the existing organizational structure.

You will be part of the team, participate in internal meetings, and work under the daily guidance of the responsible manager.

What you do

  • Processing mutations and corrections in the BRP
  • Performing quality controls on the BRP and civil status
  • Assessing requests for address registration and conducting address investigations
  • Assessing and processing registrations of persons coming to the Netherlands from abroad
  • Assessing foreign source documents and their authenticity and usability
  • Drawing up and amending birth, recognition, marriage, partnership registration, death, and dissolution certificates
  • Guiding residents through procedures related to Dutch nationality
  • Processing and checking data related to deaths and handling administrative tasks associated with burials and funerals
  • Maintaining contacts with residents, authorities, and other involved parties
  • Answering substantive questions from the front office
  • Identifying bottlenecks in processes and contributing to improving service delivery
  • Working with and supporting the management of various applications within Civil Affairs

Profile

You are able to independently take on tasks, set priorities, and coordinate with colleagues where necessary. Due to the team's size, it is important that you are broadly deployable and quickly find your way within the organization and the systems used.

What they ask

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable experience with tasks within Civil Affairs
  • Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of MBO level 4 (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable knowledge of the BRP and civil status
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable experience with tasks related to deaths and burials
  • Demonstrable work experience with relevant laws and regulations concerning civil affairs

Wishes.

  • Minimum 4 years of demonstrable experience in the past 7 years with tasks within Civil Affairs
  • Minimum 4 years of demonstrable experience in the past 7 years with tasks related to the BRP and civil status
  • Able to reach the organization's location within a maximum of 1 hour travel time
