Night Shift Supervisor Elderly with Intellectual Disability

This assignment involves a night shift supervisor role at a residential facility for elderly individuals with an intellectual disability. Some residents also have dementia or require more intensive physical care. You will work a fixed night rhythm of approximately three to four consecutive nights. The shift runs from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM. You will work independently but will always have remote support available via DigiContact and a nursing team.

What you do

  • Ensure residents feel safe during the night.
  • Provide attention, calm, and expertise to residents who wake up, experience restlessness, or need support.
  • Support residents with ADL care, toileting, medication, and other care needs.
  • Offer reassurance in case of restlessness.
  • Signal changes in health or behavior and report them carefully.
  • Perform household and administrative tasks.
  • Carefully transfer important information to the morning shift.
  • Contribute to a safe, calm, and familiar living environment.

Profile

  • Completed MBO level 3 education in Care & Welfare (e.g., MMZ, Social Care, or Nursing Assistant IG).
  • Affinity with elderly individuals with an intellectual disability and dementia.
  • Experience with or interest in ADL care, medication safety, and technical nursing procedures.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to train in epilepsy, diabetes, and stoma care, among others.
  • Good written skills for clear handovers and reports.
  • Ability to remain calm and work diligently.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
