What you will do. As a junior psychometric data scientist:
- You will conduct applied and/or fundamental research in the field of educational measurement using AI.
- You will contribute to optimizing data streams and quality controls for research into educational measurement.
- You will perform (statistical) analyses on behalf of internal and (inter)national clients, to describe, research, and improve the quality of educational tests.
- You will advise clients on (research into) the use of AI in educational measurement and its consequences for stakeholders. You will ensure that AI and data products are socially responsible, explainable, and well-governed.
- You will develop new methods and (software) functionalities to support educational measurement.
- You will report on your research in scientific journals and at conferences.
- You will contribute to courses and presentations in the field of educational measurement.
As a medior psychometric data scientist, the following tasks are added:
- You will maintain contact with stakeholders, manage projects, and coach less experienced colleagues.
- You will translate recent developments in artificial intelligence and educational measurement into consequences for processes and research methods.
- You will represent the organization as an expert.
What they ask For the role of junior psychometric data scientist:
- Academic working and thinking level, for example, demonstrated by a completed master's degree in data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field where you have gained knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing.
- Programming skills in Python and preferably also in R or C++.
- Experience with databases and version control tools such as Git.
- Interest in discovering and implementing new programming languages or functionalities.
- Plus: Experience with developing AI applications for educational practice and/or conducting research into this.
- Plus: Knowledge of advanced statistical models such as Item Response Theory (IRT) models, multi-level models, or multivariate regression models and their application.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable to the dynamics of the division, and enjoys working simultaneously on different projects with others.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
For the role of medior psychometric data scientist, we also ask:
- A completed PhD or at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in successfully coordinating activities or leading projects.
