For a hospital in a dynamic and cross-border region, which is entering a historical modernization phase, a pediatrician is sought. In anticipation of the upcoming opening of a new hospital with nearly 600 beds, the pediatrics department is expanding. The hospital offers a modern, friendly, and well-equipped working environment. You will join a multidisciplinary, international, and close-knit team of 5 pediatricians, supported by assistants.
- A dynamic pediatric unit of approximately 20 to 30 beds
- Neonatology: a unit of 6 to 8 beds providing care for newborns from ~32 to 34 weeks gestation (~1.7 kg)
- Maternity: Approximately 700 to 800 deliveries per year
- Consultations & Emergencies: pediatric emergencies are first filtered by emergency doctors (pediatricians intervene as a second resort), accompanied by scheduled external consultations
- Integrated subspecialties: pediatric diabetology (convention), pediatric echocardiography.
What you do
As a general pediatrician, you will benefit from great autonomy and a diverse clinical activity:
- Follow-up of pediatric hospitalizations and ward rounds
- Care and follow-up in maternity and neonatology
- Outpatient consultations in general pediatrics (development of subspecialties is welcome)
- Participation in the weekly on-call rotation (covering neonatology, the ward, and emergencies).
Profile
- Diploma: Holder of a Doctor of Medicine degree with specialization/DES in Pediatrics (European diploma or recognized/ongoing equivalence in Belgium)
- Clinical profile: enthusiastic, versatile, and curious general pediatrician. An orientation or subspecialty (cardiology, diabetology, etc.) is a plus
- Soft skills: rigor, listening quality, team spirit, benevolence, and relational ease with families
- Openness to international applications (EU or non-EU with equivalences)
