Reliable and future-proof public transport is indispensable for an accessible region. In this role, you ensure that residents and visitors can rely on high-quality regional bus and train transport. You manage concessions where major social, administrative, and financial interests converge, and you work closely with policy colleagues, transport operators, another public authority, and other partners.
You thus make a direct contribution to the accessibility of facilities, work, and education, and to the further development of public transport.
What you will do. In this role, you are responsible for the integrated management of public transport concessions. You maintain an overview, direct complex concessions, and ensure that agreements with transport operators are met. You move effortlessly between operational issues, administrative advice, and strategic developments. You are an important sparring partner for colleagues, management, and external partners.
- Coordinating activities within the public transport concessions sub-team and monitoring progress
- Managing public transport concessions on legal, financial, operational, and relational levels
- Maintaining and further developing collaboration with transport operators, another public authority, and other internal and external partners
- Monitoring compliance with concession agreements and steering on performance, quality, and contract results
- Playing a leading role within the regional train concession, including chairing the periodic management meeting
- Identifying developments in public transport, sustainability, and concession management, and translating these into the implementation of the concessions
- Advising management and the board on complex public transport issues and ensuring the quality of administrative documents for the decision-making bodies
- Acting as a strategic sparring partner for management and as a substantive point of contact for colleagues within the team
- Contributing to the further professionalization and development of contract and concession management within the organization

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience within the public sector
- Extensive experience with managing public transport concessions or similar complex contracts

- Knowledge of current developments in public transport and a clear vision on sustainable, affordable, and safe public transport
