What you will do. As a medical psychologist for gender care, you will work in a multidisciplinary, highly versatile team consisting of psychologists, doctors, and nurses. You will provide tailored care to help individuals with gender dysphoria in their (medical) transition process. Additionally, you will make a significant contribution to care innovation by developing policies and contributing to scientific research in the field of gender.
Your activities and responsibilities include:
- Mapping gender incongruent feelings, their developmental course, and assessing general psychological functioning and resilience
- Formulating advice regarding gender issues, focused on current functioning and future development
- Guiding adults with gender dysphoria and their support system throughout the entire treatment process
- Developing policies, implementing quality improvements, and contributing to increasing knowledge about gender diversity in the Dutch healthcare landscape
- Providing supervision and work guidance to interns, basic psychologists, and/or clinical psychologists in training
- Contributing to refresher training activities, as well as to the education of the medical psychology department

- Experiential expertise with gender dysphoria or gender variation is a plus
Practical
At the outpatient clinic, psychologists, doctors, and nurses work closely together to help people with gender dysphoria in their (medical) transition process. There are regular intervisions or, for example, a science café to enrich knowledge. The gender team is a close-knit, diverse, and pleasant team where colleagues easily consult each other for questions and discussions.
There is also room for activities outside your core tasks, such as education, information, scientific research, and contributing to the improvement of care. You will deal with a diverse target group (and their support system), providing tailored care. You will work in multidisciplinary teams within a specialized knowledge and care center.
