Youth Residential Counselor

• Guide young people (13-18 years old) in their personal development, independence, and activities.
• Provide 24/7 guidance to enable independent living in a reception center, country of origin, or own home.
• Organize group activities such as cooking, sports, or creative pursuits.
• Act as a shadow mentor in complex cases and conduct methodical discussions with young people.
• Perform room checks and provide information.
• Work closely in a team, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
• Participate in meetings and intervision sessions to ensure quality.

• Minimum of a completed MBO level 4 education in an agogic field (e.g., Social Work, Personal Counselor Social Care, Counselor Specific Target Groups, Pedagogical Employee).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of methodical guidance and intercultural communication.
• Be resilient.
• Be social, collegial, and reliable.
• Availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always waking shifts).
• Willingness to always work with at least one other colleague.

• Work at locations where unaccompanied minor foreign nationals (AMV) are accommodated.
• Locations vary from permanent reception centers to emergency shelters in diverse settings (hotel, holiday park, office building, or residential area).
• Team size varies from 15 to 40 employees, including youth workers, residential counselors, and behavioral experts.

• Initially a one-year contract with the possibility of a permanent contract.
• Travel expense reimbursement.
• Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% of the annual salary (incl. year-end bonus and holiday pay).
