Teacher
You will teach students in upper primary education with a language development disorder (LDD). These students have difficulty speaking or understanding language, which can manifest as limited verbal communication, difficulty understanding instructions, or struggling to express emotions. In a class of approximately 14 students, the specific support needs of each student are addressed. It is important that students feel safe at school and can develop optimally.
You will work within a specialized educational institution that provides education to students across multiple groups. The team works closely, ensuring short lines of communication and close collaboration with regular education. You will collaborate with fellow teachers, teaching assistants, speech therapists, behavioral specialists, quality coordinators, and other specialists.
What you will do. You will provide education by focusing on the possibilities and talents of the student. You will make an important contribution to educational development and professionalization.
- Translate student expressions into appropriate language and communication.
- Ensure a safe pedagogical and didactic environment where the student's need for help is central.
- Seek answers to the student's request for help, working intensively with parents and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and parents to provide the best education.
Profile
For the students, it is important that you can patiently ascertain what the student wants to communicate and that you adapt your sentences and words to the student's language level. You know yourself well and can reflect on yourself.
- Possess a PABO diploma (primary education teacher training).
- Be enthusiastic, proactive, patient, involved, and motivated to delve into this specific target group.
- Have experience in regular education.
- Experience in cluster 2 education is a plus.
