As a Capacity Specialist at a childcare organization, you play a key role in understanding, forecasting, and improving capacity issues. You translate data into clear insights, substantiated advice, and concrete interventions to help managers make the right choices regarding occupancy, staff deployment, and group composition. This contributes to agile operations, satisfied employees, and quality childcare for children.
What you will do.
- Timely signaling, analyzing, and interpreting capacity developments.
- Looking ahead, identifying deviations, and advising on appropriate steering and corrective measures.
- Connecting operational practice with policy and strategy.
- Being an important sparring partner for the management team.
- Advising team leaders, branch managers, and district managers on interventions for capacity bottlenecks.
- Providing substantive input for tactical policy and organization-wide choices in capacity management.
- Working closely with colleagues in Capacity and Customer Service, Business Control, and Business Intelligence.
- Analyzing trends and developments in occupancy, staff deployment, group composition, and productivity at branch, district, and regional levels.
- Preparing capacity forecasts at branch, district, and regional levels, looking several months ahead.
- Performing scenario analyses and calculating different steering variants (e.g., group composition, staffing, flexible deployment, opening hours).
- Clarifying what capacity choices mean for workload, pedagogical quality, continuity, efficiency, and financial results.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented measures and reporting on them.
- Implementing and evaluating activities and plans arising from tactical policy.
Profile
- HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level.
- Demonstrable knowledge of capacity management.
- Experience with data analysis, forecasting, trend, and scenario analysis.
- Knowledge of and experience with BI systems and planning software.
- Knowledge of the childcare sector is a plus (e.g., laws and regulations, planning principles, occupancy rates, pedagogical frameworks).
- Analytical view to translate figures and developments into clear insights and practical advice.
- Business acumen and results-oriented approach, with an eye for both quality and people.
- Ability to translate complex issues into clear, well-substantiated advice.
- Connecting way of working and creating support for changes.
