Youth Worker
The organization accommodates young people aged 13 to 18 who have often experienced a lot. These young people need structure and regularity. The youth worker provides 24/7 guidance so that they can live independently from the age of 18 in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home.
What you do
- Regularly conduct mentoring interviews with the young people.
- Maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers, such as guardians, schools, and general practitioners.
- Activate young people and ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
- Be a visible point of contact for the young people.
- Work closely within a team and participate in meetings and intervision discussions.
What they ask
- Relevant HBO or WO diploma in Social Work, MWD, SPH, CMV, Teacher Training, Pedagogy, Psychology, or another diploma within Social Sciences.
- SKJ registered or the possibility to obtain SKJ registration within two years.
- Availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always wake-up shifts).
- A relevant MBO diploma combined with SKJ registration is also possible.
Preferences.
- Work experience in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or welfare work.
Profile
- Stand firm.
- Be empathetic, without losing professional distance.
- Be clear in setting boundaries.
- Good organizational skills and administratively strong.
Practical
You will work at one of the organization's reception locations. A team consists of 15 to 40 employees, including youth workers, residential counselors, and behavioral experts.
