A specialized center for children and adolescents with complex psychiatric issues is looking for a coordinating counselor with systemic therapeutic expertise for the Intensive Treatment Group. The clinical, intensive treatment group offers observation, diagnosis, and treatment for a maximum of 7/8 children (aged 6 to 13) with a psychiatric care need. Children typically stay in the group for several months.
The treatment group provides a safe observation and treatment environment where children and parents/caregivers feel secure to learn. Parents are intensively involved in the treatment through therapy sessions, parental participation in the group, outpatient appointments (at home), and, if necessary, rooming-in. Within the intensive treatment group, we guide not only the child but also the family, working systemically. The motto is to help families continue together with outpatient care after admission.
What you will do.
- Fulfill a substantively consulting role within the treatment process
- Maintain an eye on the broader context of the child from a systemic perspective (parents, social network, environment)
- Adopt the perspective of parents/caregivers and recognize interaction patterns
- Help to change interaction patterns to strengthen parenting skills and the parent-child relationship
- Engage in conversations focused on diagnosis (e.g., systemic assessment) and treatment (e.g., psychoeducation) regarding systemic patterns
- Implement experiential learning within the group
- Help and coach mentors/sociotherapists to encourage parents in daily practice to change their interaction patterns for the development of their child
What they ask
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in, for example, Social Work, Nursing, SPH / MWD
- Preferably supplemented with a systemic follow-up course/training
- Relevant work experience in, for example, mental health care (GGZ), youth care, or social welfare
- SKJ registration
- Must: systemic therapeutic knowledge and experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work demand-driven, methodically
Practical
- Regular working days
- Employment conditions and salary in accordance with the applicable collective labor agreement for mental health care (FWG 50)
