Cornea Department Analyst
This organization is a multi-tissue center focused on the reception, processing, storage, distribution, and mediation of donated human tissue for transplantation purposes. It collaborates closely with a national transplantation foundation, numerous academic and peripheral hospitals, laboratories, and tissue banks in the Netherlands and abroad. It is a non-profit organization.
As an analyst, you assess the usability of corneas for corneal transplantation, following strict rules and working methods to ensure tissue quality and safety. The work is unique, and many assessments and procedures are performed manually. The processed and delivered tissue significantly improves patients' vision after transplantation. The department consists of a team of 18 employees.
What you will do.
- Receive, prepare, and process donated tissue, including corneas.
- Microscopically assess tissue quality, prepare it for shipment, and send it.
- Process, implement, and read microbiological controls, and produce media for storing and shipping corneas.
- Manage the necessary automated donor administration and consult with ophthalmological clinics and a national transplantation foundation.
What they ask
- A completed HBO-level (higher professional education) degree as a (bio)medical analyst.
- Experience with microscopic techniques and aseptic work.
- The ability to work accurately within a quality system with automated data processing and (advanced) equipment.
- Good communication skills, a high degree of independence, strong sense of responsibility, collegiality, and flexibility, given a highly variable workload.
Practical
- Willingness to be scheduled for weekends and public holidays.
- You always work day shifts.
