What you do
In this versatile role, you combine the functions of deputy municipal archivist (70%) and policy advisor (30%).
Deputy Municipal Archivist:
- Supervise transferred and not yet transferred archives of partners.
- Independently perform and coordinate inspections and audits in the field of archive and information management.
- Ensure meticulous reporting in accordance with the Archives Act and related laws and regulations.
- Assess destruction lists and requests for alienation and replacement.
- Propose improvement suggestions for information management to partners.
- Advise on topics related to information management to partners.
- Maintain contacts with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a relevant network concerning developments and consequences within the field.
- Prepare the annual report of the municipal archivist.
- Assess dispensation requests for access to restricted public archives.
- Substitute for the director-municipal archivist during various tactical and strategic meetings.
- Work closely with the archive inspector.
Policy Advisor:
- Guide the development and updating of the organization's policy in the field of archive management, collection management, and supervision.
- Identify developments within the field and translate them into policy and practice.
- Advise management and the director-municipal archivist, both solicited and unsolicited.
- Play an active role in national and regional consultation structures.
- Contribute to the further professionalization of the organization.
- Represent the organization when necessary.
- Actively participate in the development consultation of relevant national consultation structures.

- Willingness to follow appropriate training if an Archivist A or B diploma is not available, but demonstrable knowledge and experience are present.
