As a nurse at a specialized medical center for somatic care, you will have a varied job. This center is the only one in the Netherlands where detainees are nursed whose care needs are too great for the regular penitentiary institution.
What you will do.
- You will deal with all facets of care, from mother/child to palliative care.
- You will care for patients with various conditions, such as gunshot wounds, chemotherapy, drug addiction, rehabilitation, and postoperative care.
- You will keep patient records in order in the digital patient file.
- You can fulfill a coordinating role during evening, night, or weekend shifts when new patients are admitted.
- You will work closely with doctors and replace admission coordinators.
- You will collect documents, register admissions, and liaise with contact persons from involved parties.
Profile
- You have an MBO 4 or HBO diploma and are BIG-registered.
- You have recent work experience in a hospital.
- You have an affinity with psychiatry and addiction care.
- You are able to determine nursing care based on clinical reasoning.
- You are willing to work day, evening, weekend, and night shifts.
- You have knowledge of sources of nursing practice, current guidelines, and professional standards.
- You can perform reserved and high-risk actions.
- You are aware of developments in the field and enjoy applying them.
- You easily make contact, have a flexible and enterprising attitude, and enjoy working together.
- You keep a cool head even in hectic situations.
Practical
- You will work in a closed setting with men and women who have committed an offense.
- You will collaborate with other nurses, doctors, medical specialists, case managers, and security personnel.
- An induction period with good guidance is provided.
- Registration in the V&VN quality register is facilitated.
- Various training courses are available.
