Dietitian & Psychologist Coach

You will guide patients individually (and possibly in groups) in achieving a healthier weight and eating pattern. You will work closely with other disciplines within a multidisciplinary practice and tailor the approach to the specific needs of each target group.

What you do

As a Dietitian:

  • Conduct intake and follow-up consultations (nutritional assessment, body composition, food diaries)
  • Develop personalized nutrition plans, taking into account:
  • Metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia)
  • Menopausal changes (hormonal, muscle preservation, bone health)
  • Aging (sarcopenia, malnutrition, decreased appetite, swallowing problems)
  • Guide patients who use or will use GLP-1 agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide):
  • Nutritional advice during build-up and maintenance phases
  • Prevention of muscle loss and micronutrient deficiencies
  • Guidance on side effects (nausea, decreased appetite, constipation)
  • Support in maintaining healthy eating habits after tapering off
  • Monitor progress through measurable parameters and adjust plans as needed

As a Psychologist/Coach:

  • Guide patients with emotional eating, binge eating, cravings, and self-image issues
  • Work with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, motivational interviewing, and acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Support long-term behavioral change (habits, self-regulation, relapse prevention)
  • Guide patients using GLP-1 with:
  • Changing relationship with food
  • Anxiety or resistance around medication
  • Identity loss after weight loss
  • Psychological support for lifelong lifestyle change
  • Collaborate with the dietitian on an integrated treatment plan

What they ask Diploma & recognition:

  • Dietitian: Bachelor/Master in Dietetics, recognized by RIZIV (or willing to arrange this)
  • Psychologist: Master in Psychology, clinical experience; coaching certification is a plus
  • Both: independent status (sole proprietorship, BV, VOF or equivalent)

Experience & skills:

  • Experience with weight management and obesity care
  • Knowledge of and affinity with GLP-1-related nutritional and psychological guidance
  • Experience with menopausal patients and/or geriatric population is a strong plus
  • Scientifically substantiated, non-dogmatic approach
  • Empathetic, motivating
  • Good communication skills in Dutch (French/English is a plus)
  • Willingness to collaborate multidisciplinarily

Independent entrepreneurship:

  • You have your own professional liability insurance
  • You are willing to make agreements on rates, referrals, and space usage
  • You can work independently within the vision and quality standards of the practice

Practical

  • Space within a growing multidisciplinary practice with referrals
