Guidance Consultant
As a Guidance Consultant, you are the first point of contact for citizens of a large city. You inform and advise them on local, urban, and national provisions, as well as laws and regulations within the social domain. You clarify questions using an established methodology, with attention to citizens' self-reliance. These conversations are primarily conducted in Dutch, but also regularly in English.
You encourage citizens to take their own responsibility and guide them to other professionals within the organization or externally for support in debt counseling, legal assistance, or WMO. You refer them to a district team when there are multiple problems or a crisis situation. A consultant's day is very diverse. You start on-site with walk-in hours where citizens report with simple to very complex questions in the field of care and welfare.
During these conversations, you ask broad questions where necessary and specific questions where possible. You register information in the system and ensure proper referral or make an appointment with a specialist. In the afternoon, appointments are scheduled for in-depth analysis, mapping the situation using the ZRM. When referring, you register information comprehensively so that your colleague from another department can immediately follow up.
In complex situations, support can be requested from a quality employee and/or an access expertise employee.
