Director Administrator
Do you want to guide an organization that brings together government, business, knowledge institutions, and society in the field of digitalization? Can you connect societal and administrative issues with concrete collaboration and ensure a professional and future-proof organization? Then this is your chance to make a meaningful impact. A vacancy for a Director - Administrator has arisen within a platform for the information society.
The platform has proven its added value for over 25 years through its connecting power, neutral stance, and widely supported and implemented results of programs and projects. It is currently in an important phase of its development: in the period 2026–2028, it is working on a transition aimed at safeguarding continuity, professionalizing governance, and making the organization future-proof, while maintaining its core values.
What you do
The Director - Administrator acts as a figurehead and steers this transition. You are not primarily technically responsible for daily process execution, but you ensure that the organization is sufficiently organized internally in a coherent manner, so that governance, quality, and financial control are in order. You lead the platform and form the linchpin between giving external meaning, administrative decisiveness, and internal governability.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Leading the further development and implementation of the multi-year strategy.
- Translating societal and administrative issues into a coherent portfolio of programs and collaborations.
- Steering prioritization and coherence: what the organization undertakes, why it is relevant, and what impact is aimed for.
- Being a figurehead and representing the organization with authority towards governments, partners, and knowledge institutions.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships, with an emphasis on administrative significance and sustainable collaboration.
- Building coalitions in which the organization not only sets agendas but also establishes connections and facilitates collaboration.
- Ensuring that external expectations and administrative agreements are translated into workable internal frameworks.
- Bearing administrative responsibility for workable decision-making and decision quality towards the Supervisory Board within the two-tier governance.
- Ensuring transparent and traceable accountability.
- Working closely with the Advisory Board, which, based on independent expertise and commitment, advises, reflects, and acts as a sparring partner, both solicited and unsolicited.
- Safeguarding the independence and integrity of the platform.
- Acting carefully and principled when interests diverge, so that the platform remains neutral and can maintain and strengthen trust among stakeholders.
Profile
We are looking for a senior personality who fits the organization's DNA: energetic, optimistic, engaged and connecting, socially aware, and principled where fundamental interests are at stake. A connecting, coaching leader and figurehead who understands complex stakeholder environments and moves easily in public-private relationships.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following competencies:
- Academic working and thinking level and at least 10 years of senior management experience within the spectrum of a program/project environment.
- Preferably, experience in a final responsible (director's) role.
- Effortlessly switching between content and business operations.
- Having a clear vision and enjoying working at a strategic level, but also being willing to roll up your sleeves.
- Flawlessly sensing when it is best to delegate matters and when it is good to take them on yourself.
- Demonstrable affinity with digitalization, preferably with your own relevant network already built up.
- Eager to take on the challenge of maintaining and expanding this network, based on your strongly developed networking skills.
- Having an eye for mandate, accountability, and transparency in the context of governance-aware leadership.
- Integrity, legality, and diligence are important starting points for your actions and decision-making.
Practical aspects.
- A one-year contract with the intention to extend indefinitely with sufficient work and good development.
- Annual holiday allowance of 8% and 32 vacation days.
- A workplace at the office and reimbursement for mobile phone costs.
- A personal development budget to further develop yourself through training, courses, or coaching.
