Strategic Advisor

As a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors staff department, you advise and support the Board of Directors in the development, implementation, and execution of strategic policy. You contribute to decision-making and the realization of organizational objectives within a healthcare organization.

What you will do.

  • Identify relevant internal and external developments and translate them into strategic policy proposals and improvement initiatives for the organization.
  • Analyze complex strategic issues and elaborate them into advice and substantiated proposals for the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct research and feasibility studies, identify opportunities and bottlenecks, and translate insights into concrete policy information and advice.
  • Coordinate and review policy proposals from fellow advisors on content, coherence, and long-term impact for the organization.
  • Act as a sparring partner and advisor to the Board of Directors on strategic choices and organizational issues.
  • Participate in and lead organization-wide projects, ensuring that established policy is translated into concrete actions, processes, and results.
  • Monitor policy implementation using key performance indicators and steering figures, maintain relevant networks, and stimulate collaboration within and outside the organization.

Profile

  • Relevant academic education and several years of experience in a strategic advisory role, for example within healthcare, the public sector, or consultancy.
  • Experience with strategic policy development and organizational issues, preferably in a complex organizational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand complex issues and translate them into clear advice and policy proposals.
  • Organizational sensitivity and persuasiveness: you can bridge different interests and build support among the board, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written skills, for example, for writing policy notes and presenting advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Integrity, perseverance, and a proactive attitude: you identify developments (e.g., in healthcare and legislation) and translate them into strategic opportunities for the organization.
  • Open attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and opinions.
